The base¡¯s location was discovered when a Viper probe droid, deployed by Darth Vader¡¯s Death Squadron, landed on the planet, causing the rebels to initiate an evacuation. The attack forces of the Empire were mainly composed of AT-AT Walkers, commanded by General Maximilian Veers. His army was charged with the objective of destroying the main power generator in the Echo Base to allow the orbital bombardment of the planet. Despite the efforts of the Rogue Squadron, the power generator ended up being destroyed, and the remaining people on the base proceeded to evacuate the place, when the 501st Legion, led by Darth Vader, invaded. Considered to be the greatest villain in the history of cinema, Darth Vader is the main character in George Lucas¡¯ Star Wars universe. Appearing both on the original trilogy of the series and on the movies ¡°Episode III: Revenge of the Sith¡± and ¡°Rogue One: A Star Wars Story¡±, and on the show ¡°Obi-Wan Kenobi¡± from streaming service Disney , on comic books, animations, and many other media.
